One of the most popular models of nebula projectors is the BlissLights Sky Lite 2.0, but it has one major drawback: it’s controlled via Bluetooth.

That makes it slow to react and means you ideally need to be in the same room to establish a good connection. But all is not lost, if you like the over all design and features I’ve got the perfect, WiFi enabled, alternative for you: the Encalife Athmophere.

Encalife Atmosphere

WiFi nebula projector

With millions of colours to choose from via your mobile there’s a lot to love about this projector.

  • 16.7 million nebula colours
  • Voice control via Alexa or Google
  • Controlled over WiFi via app

In the Box

This is a simple to use projector that doesn’t need to come with much. As well as the projector you get a USB power cable and instruction manual.

The manual will direct you to download the companion mobile app, which is what you’ll use to set up and control the projector.

Physical controls are kept to a minmum, with just a single button on the unit to control power and cycle through different modes.

To unlock the true potential you’ll need to download the app and follow the onscreen instructions. The entire process was quick and simple and you’ll soon be rotating through the millions of colours available.

The Smart Life app is not a dedicated app, it’s a general app that can be used with a wide range of different devices. This is a real benefit as it means you can control all your devices via a single app.

App Control

Opening up the app (available on Android or iOS) allows you to control different aspects of the projection:

  • Star control: The ‘stars’ in this case are little dots of light, they can be turned on/off and have the brightness adjusted.
  • Nebula control: The main element, it can be turned off for a stars only view, brightness can be adjusted, and the colours can be changed as well.
  • Spin control: How quickly the projection is rotating
  • Timer control: Set it to turn on or off on a set day at a set time, perfect if you want to make sure your little one doesn’t have it on all night!

There are also preset scenes for you to pick from. Selecting a scene will change all the above settings, e.g. you might get a slow spinning red nebula, or a fast spinning nebula that changes colours.

Encalife Atmosphere in use

Once you’re set up this is a very easy device to use, there are no discs to swap out, it’s all controlled via the app.

You’ll need to locate it close to a power outlet and within an area that has a decent WiFi connection.

The design is such that it can be pointed at a wall or a ceiling, and it weighs very little, so it is fine to place on bookshelves.

Check out my review video to see it in action.

It’s a great device, but do keep in mind it can let off a lot of ambiant light. How much light will depend on the settings you’ve chosen, but at it’s brightest it’s like having a bedside light on, it fills the room.

Encalife Atmosphere vs BlissLights Sky Lite 2.0

I mentioned the SkyLite 2.0 at the start because these are two very similar devices in terms of look and projection quality.

To get a good sense of the differences I’ve done a video so you can see the two units in action, side by side.

Overall they’re very similar in terms of projection, it will come down to if you want blue or green stars and if connecting over WiFi is important.

In terms of price, you’re best checking the Encalife website directly. They often have sales or discount codes available so don’t be put off if it’s listed at £173, the RRP price, as I’ve seen it on sale for a lot less.
